Ahmed Hassan has been allowed to join the Egypt camp in the UAE at the expense of Zamalek's Champions League game with Young Africans. The Egypt captain, who is one match short of becoming the world's most-capped player of all time, was selected for the team's three friendlies at the Dubai camp along with Mahmoud Fathallah and Mohamed Abdul-Shafi. The trio was supposed to feature in Monday's game with Kenya and then return to their club for the weekend tie against Tanzanian champions Yanga, but Hassan has been allowed to stay on. “Hassan asked if he can stay with the national team and we accepted his request,” Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Youssef told FilGoal.com. Hassan missed Zamalek's first-leg draw in Dar es Salaam as he had been performing Umrah, following several days of depression in the wake of the Port-Said events. After facing Kenya, the 36-year-old midfielder is expected to lead Egypt against Uganda and Niger during the 10-day Gulf camp.
