Egypt were the worst movers of all national teams in the FIFA monthly ranking after dropping 25 places to a record-low 61st of the world. The unprecedented failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations seems to have taken its toll on the Pharaohs, who alongside Senegal were the lowest achievers in the table. Egypt's lowest-ever ranking put the seven-time CAN champs in 11th position among African nations, with Ivory Coast still leading the charge for the Dark Continent. Surprise African champions Zambia moved up 28 places to break into the top 50 in 43rd, while co-hosts Gabon made a staggering 46-spot improvement to become 45th. Equatorial Guinea also jumped 41 places up the rankings to lie 110th as world champions Spain remained comfortably in charge of the 205-nation table.
