Former Masri officials Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan will be investigated by the general prosecutor following the Port-Said disaster. “The general prosecutor summoned the Hassan twins for investigation after an unknown person claimed they were involved in the disaster,” Masri lawyer Ashraf Al-Ezabi said. “Someone claimed that the twins knew about the Port-Said massacre before it had happened and now they must head to Ismailia for investigation.” When he was asked about the allegations last week, coach Hossam Hassan vehemently denied any involvement in the tragic incident that claimed the lives of more than 70 Ahli supporters. During the twins' spell at Zamalek, an unprecedented pitch-invasion scene took place at Cairo Stadium when the Whites were on the verge of being eliminated from the Champions League. Following the chaotic incident, some pundits pointed finger at football director Ibrahim, claiming he instigated the home fans before facing Club Africain. The former Egypt defender called for calm before the Ahli meeting this time though as he repeatedly urged Port-Said fans to offer the league holders a warm welcome, only for his attempts to bear no fruit.
