Ahli striker Emad Meteb will need three days of rehabilitation in order to regain full fitness following his marriage, while youngster Rami Rabiea has suffered a serious back problem, the Reds said. Top scorer Meteb has been on a 10-day vacation and has just returned to Cairo on Monday as Ahli resume their league campaign on December 22. He was supposed to miss the meeting with Ismaili but should now be available after the game was moved to December 26. Meteb's return is much-needed for the league leaders after Mauritanian frontman Dominique da Silva was ruled out for two weeks with a hamstring tear. Brazilian Fabio Junior is also injured. Rabiea blow Meanwhile, young defender Rabiea is forced to travel to Germany for treatment of a back injury after suffering a relapse during a friendly win over lower-division side Toukh. Rabiea, who developed into a regular in Manuel Jose's rearguard, made his return from injury in Tuesday's warm-up game only to find his nagging back complaint resurface; a setback that forced him off the pitch after just 18 minutes from the start. “I expected Rabiea's injury to resurface in a few games but it occurred too early.” Ahli doctor Ihab Ali told FilGoal.com. “I had already got the board's approval for him to travel to Germany from a while ago and he is set to fly within the next few days.” The 19-year-old joins the list of casualties in the Red Devils' backline, including Mohamed Naguib and Sherif Abdul-Fadil.
