Sunderland failed to win for the fourth match running as they succumbed to a dramatic 2-1 home defeat to lowly Wigan. Egypt winger Ahmed Elmohamady remained on the bench for the 90 minutes at the Stadium of Light, where the home side saw their eighth-minute lead by Sebastian Larsson dramatically turned over. A penalty by Jordi Gomez leveled things for Wigan before half time, with substitute Franco Di Santo snatching the win for Steve Bruce's former club in the 90th minute. Sunderland, who visit Wolves next weekend, freeze on 11 points in 15th place, only a couple of points off the relegation zone.
