Wadi Degla manager Walter Meeuws will be able to return to action in two weeks after having surgery, in the wake of the team's recent bus crash. The Belgian suffered a broken arm and a kidney problem in last week's accident at the Cairo-Ismailia road; a setback that forced the Egyptian FA to postpone Degla's league opener with Zamalek. “Meeuws had a successful operation on Tuesday following an internal kidney bleeding,” Degla football director Khaled Khairat told FilGoal.com. “Doctors say he needs from 10 days to two weeks to be able to resume work.” Degla assistant coach Hesham Zakaria will be in charge of the first team for the start of the new season, which includes games Bani Suef Telephones and Harras Hodoud. Meeuws, 60, helped Degla avoid a bottom-three finish last term as the Cairo side ended the league season in 12th place.
