Ahmed Elmohamady's Sunderland and Mohamed Zidan's Borussia Dortmund succumbed to disappointing home defeats in their respective leagues on Saturday. Elmohamady played half an hour as Sunderland were downed 2-1 by Chelsea at the Stadium of Light, with the Egypt full-back brought on when his side were trailing by two. Goals from John Terry and Daniel Sturridge lifted the Londoners, while Korean winger Ji Dong-Won grabbed a late consolation on his Black Cats debut. Similarly, Zidan came on in the 73rd minute to replace Sven Bender with Hertha in front through Raffael and Peter Niemeyer, before Robert Lewandowski scored for the Bundesliga holders late in the game. Dortmund, who host Arsenal in their UEFA Champions League opener in midweek, slip to 10th place of the German league table with seven points from five games.
