Zamalek have ended their pursuit of ENPPI midfielder Islam Awad after getting a negative response from the petroleum club. “ENPPI have totally rejected selling Islam Awad despite our serious bid and the player's desire to join us,” Zamalek board member Abdullah George told the club's website. Zamalek's unsuccessful move for Awad is the second in the space of one month as the Cairo club had to improve their initial bid to sign the Egypt international. ENPPI seem to be reluctant to sacrifice another star player after selling midfield ace Walid Soliman to Ahli for EGP 8million. Zamalek are likely to turn their attention to unsettled Ismaili playmaker Abdullah Al-Saied, with manager Hassan Shehata keen on adding a player in that position.
