Ahli boss Manuel Jose is confident that summer signing Fabio Junior will shine if he was given enough support from the Reds' fans. The 28-year-old striker came on for his debut in the 2-0 Champions League win over MC Alger and almost scored with a long-range effort that went inches wide. While some pundits have questioned the acquisition of the relatively-unknown Brazilian, Jose seems confident on his bargain. “Fabio needs time to adapt to the game in Egypt and show what he can do,” the Portuguese coach told Ahli's website. “I am sure he is a good signing, but he just needs the support of the fans to prove it.” Fabio Junior will have to fight for his place in Jose's star-studded frontline including Emad Meteb, Geddo, Al-Sayed Hamdi and Dominique da Silva.
