Ahli have finalized the move of Egypt midfielder Walid Soliman from ENPPI for a fee of EGP 8million. ENPPI announced the deal on their website on Tuesday, adding that the transfer fee includes a 25% of the 26-year-old's next sale. Ahli have been chasing Soliman since his Petrojet days but the latter decided to sell him to petroleum-sector neighbors ENPPI last summer. The midfield ace, who suffered a nervous breakdown after Petrojet had blocked his move to Ahli, threatened to quit football if ENPPI did the same this summer. Soliman is Ahli's fifth summer recruit, joining fellow Egypt internationals Al-Sayed Hamdi and Mohamed Naguib. Full-back Ahmed Shedid and Brazilian striker Fabio Junior complete the quintet. Once again, the league champions beat off competition from arch-rivals Zamalek by snapping up Soliman as the Whites have only signed Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan so far. The deal takes Ahli's total summer spending to EGP 19million so far.
