Ahli are on the verge of signing Petrojet and Egypt striker Al-Sayed Hamdi after he agreed terms of a summer move with the league champions. “An agreement was reached with Ahli on an undisclosed fee for Hamdi, in addition to a midfield player in exchange,” Petrojet vice-president Hassan Mohamed told FilGoal.com. It is believed that Hamdi, who is also targeted by Zamalek, will sign a four-year deal with Ahli. The midfield player going in the other direction is likely to be MCDR loanee Mahmoud Toba. Hamdi managed to establish his place in Egypt's roster under the management of Hassan Shehata as he excelled in the friendly Nile Basin tournament back in January. But the 27-year-old only managed to score four times in the league this season for Petrojet, who slipped to 10th place and could well finish the campaign just above the relegation zone.
