Ajax, the club that Egyptian striker Mido has just rejoined, qualified for the UEFA Champions League upon sinking Dynamo Kyiv 2-1 in a playoff at Amsterdam Arena. The first leg in Ukraine had ended in a 1-1 draw. After Wednesday's game, Martin Jol's side went through on a 3-2 aggregate win. Luis Suarez put Ajax upfront in the 43rd minute before his strike partner Mounir El Hamdaoui doubled the hosts' lead. Dynamo veteran Andriy Shevchenko pulled one back upon converting a penalty kick six minutes from time. Expectedly, Ajax new signing Mido was not included in his team's squad as he is yet to finish an intensive fitness program.
