Ahli playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika is doubtful for his side's friendly game against Ajax Amsterdam on Thursday after picking up an ankle injury, the Egyptian champions said. "Abou-Treika sustained the injury after colliding with midfielder Mostafa Shebeita in Wednesday's training session," Ahli said on their official website. "His availability for the Ajax game is yet to be determined but the technical staff will not risk him if he is not fully fit." Abou-Treika has been suffering from niggling injuries that took its toll on him in the second half of last season. He missed Egypt's triumphant African Cup of Nations campaign in Angola last January and could not find top gear when he played in Ahli's latter Egyptian Premier League games. Striker Mohamed Fadl and veteran attacking midfielder Mohamed Barakat are also uncertain to play against Ajax due to injuries. Ahli will conclude their pre-season warm-ups against the Dutch giants on Thursday. Ajax defeated the Red Devils 2-1 in Cairo in their last friendly game in January 2003. Six-time African champions Ahli open their Champions League group stage campaign against Heartland of Nigeria on July 17.
