Fayoum manager Anwar Amin could not bear being 'ignored' during a news conference after the second-division side lost to Zamalek in the Egyptian Cup on Saturday. Cairo giants Zamalek needed a header from Ahmed Gaafar eight minutes past the hour mark to end the resistance of Fayoum, who battled bravely but could not fend off the sustained pressure. Zamalek, who finished second in the Egyptian Premier League, naturally stole the show during the post-match news conference but Amin hardly accepted his fate. "All your questions are to (Zamalek assistant coach) Tarek Soliman," he told reporters in the conference room. "This means that my presence is useless, so I should leave," he added before storming out of the room. The majority of Egyptian clubs, the unfancied and prominent ones, usually blame the media for focusing their attention on Zamalek and their Cairo rivals Ahli. The other Premier League sides who excel and win trophies hardly get the praise Ahli and Zamalek enjoy following their victorious campaigns. Amin was still blamed by the match's commissioner when he decided to walk out prematurely. "The coach of the visiting team gets the questions first, this is natural. Amin's turn was to follow," he said. Zamalek, who last won the Egyptian Cup in 2008 and have not won any title since then, qualified for the competition's round of 16. They will face Ahli on Wednesday in a third Cairo derby this season, having drawn their two league games with the Red Devils.
