Chelsea were beaten at home for the first time since November 2008 after slumping to a 4-2 defeat to Manchester City in a match that saw Wayne Bridge refuse John Terry's handshake. City left-back Bridge and Chelsea's central defender Terry dominated headlines before the match after reports emerged over an alleged relationship between Terry and Bridge's ex-girlfriend. In the pre-match greeting ceremony, Bridge snubbed Terry after they had come face to face for the first time since the reports surfaced. Bridge's team had the upper hand in the game although Premier League leaders Chelsea, who had two players sent off in the second half, took the lead on 42 minutes with a clinical finish from Frank Lampard. Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez, who has just returned to City after compassionate leave, leveled the score on the stroke of halftime in superb fashion. Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel inadvertently headed the ball back towards his own goal to allow Tevez to gather it, hold off defensive duo Terry and Ricardo Carvalho before beating reserve keeper Hilario with a weak shot.
City secure impressive win Welsh striker Craig Bellamy put City ahead in the 51st minute after rounding off a neatly-worked counter attack. Tevez scored his second of the night in the 76th minute when he converted a penalty after Juliano Belletti tripped Gareth Barry to receive a red card. Chelsea's German midfielder Michael Ballack was also sent off before Bellamy put the result beyond doubt three minutes from time. A penalty from Lampard in stoppage time was no more than consolation for the hosts. The match's goals
