Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is set to extend his contract with the English champions until 2011. The 39-year-old will run out of contract in the summer, but revealed that United have offered him a new deal. "I would like to keep on playing so I have decided to sign another contract," the Dutchman told the News of the World. "The club want me to stay and I'm happy here. My fitness is good and I feel I can carry on playing for United." Despite the new offer, Van der Sar isn't enjoying his best of seasons at Old Trafford as he has been hampered by injuries and personal problems in 2009. United are believed to be looking for a goalkeeper to back up the giant guardian, with Tomasz Kuszczak fighting for place in Alex Ferguson's starting eleven.
