Bayern loan Toni to Roma

Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni has joined Roma on a six-month loan deal, the both clubs announced on Thursday.
"FC Bayern has agreed to loan its player Luca Toni (32) to AS Roma until 30 June 2010," a Bayern statement read.
"AS Roma and FC Bayern have concluded a deal to that effect."
Toni has been pleading for this move during the past couple of weeks and his signature is now only subject to a medical.
The Italy striker, who hopes to secure a place in the Azzurri squad in the 2010 World Cup, fell out with Bayern boss Louis van Gaal and was deemed surplus to the Dutchman's requirements.
