Algeria defender Madjid Bougherra is glad that his side weren't drawn with Egypt in the same group in the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola. Defending champions Egypt were favorably drawn in Group C alongside Mozambique, Benin and Nigeria who are perceived to be the only high-profile opposition for the Pharaohs. On the other hand, Algeria lie in Group A which includes hosts Angola, Mali, and Malawi. With tensions mount between Egypt and Algeria, Bougherra sounded his satisfaction over the draw. "I hoped not to be in the same group with Egypt," he told Algerian newspaper Al-Hadaf. "A lot of things would have been said if both teams had been drawn together. "I'm not afraid of facing Egypt, but I would rather meet them in the advanced stages of the competition. "Facing them in the group stage would have result in immense pressure on us till next year."
