South Korea's Pohang Steelers won the Asian Champions League title after beating Saudi giants Ittihad 2-1 at the National Stadium in Tokyo on Saturday. Forward No Byung-jun put the Koreans ahead in the 57th minute when his free-kick penetrated the wall and found the bottom corner. Kim Hyung-il doubled their lead nine minutes later after beating his marker to a free-kick to power a header into the top corner of the net. Ittihad skipper Mohamed Noor pulled one back on 74 minutes when he volleyed home from inside the area after Steelers keeper parried a Hicham Aboucherouane header into his path. Moroccan forward Aboucherouane could have grabbed the equalizer in stoppage time but saw his free-kick goes just wide. Steelers, who won the old Asian Club Championship twice in 1997 and 1998, have now booked a place in next month's FIFA Club World Cup in UAE capital Abu Dhabi.
