Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has denied making any comments against his Manchester United counterpart Alex Ferguson. Martinez was quoted on Wednesday by Spanish daily AS as implying that the English FA are too lenient on Ferguson, in the wake of his recent referee criticism. "Wigan Athletic manager, Roberto Martinez, has today categorically denied making the comments about Sir Alex Ferguson that have been attributed to him in a number of media reports. Martinez has referred the matter to the League Managers Association," a statement on the League Managers' Association site read. Ferguson has recently bee charged with improper conduct after describing referee Alan Wiley as 'unfit' to officiate United's game with Sunderland. The Scotsman is facing a personal hearing next month and could well escape punishment.
