Middlesbrough have announced that Scottish manager Gordon Strachan will succeed the sacked Gareth Southgate as the first team manager. Strachan, who won six trophies in his last experience with Celtic, will be unveiled to the media on Monday. Boro sacked Southgate last week after a string of poor results which saw them lose four games out of 13 in the English second tier. Egypt midfielder Mohamed Shwaky is hoping to get some regular football under the new boss after being consistently kept in the fringes by Southgate. Another Egyptian that could have a future with the Championship side is Mido, who is on a season-long loan at Zamalek.
