United, who missed several key players due to injury including striker Wayne Rooney and in-form winger Ryan Giggs, are close to booking a place in the knockout stage. They are on top of Group B with maximum nine points from three games, two ahead of Wolfsburg who meet pointless Besiktas later in the day.
