Egypt and Borussia Dortmund striker Mohamed Zidan vowed to cause Algeria and Bochum defender Antar Yahia all sorts of problems in their anticipated double-duel on the club and country levels. Yahia said on Friday he would beat Zidan twice when Bochum visit Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Sunday and Egypt host Algeria in a crunch World Cup qualifier next month. Zidan is adamant he will get the better of the 27-year-old on both occasions. "Yahia will not be my friend tomorrow," the former Mainz and Werder Bremen man was quoted as saying by Bild on Saturday. "I'm focusing now on Dortmund's game against Bochum and I'm sure I can unsettle him tomorrow and in the World Cup qualifier." Zidan is likely to be included in Egypt's squad for the Algeria clash after coach Hassan Shehata gave him the green light to return to the national team's fold.
Zidan is confident he will overcome Yahia Shehata left the 27-year-old out of the Pharaohs' two successive victories over Rwanda and Zambia as a disciplinary measure after he skipped a friendly game with Guinea in August. Group C leaders Algeria have 13 points, three ahead of second-placed Egypt with one match remaining. They also boast a four-goal advantage over the six-time African champions. A 3-0 victory for Egypt will see them progress to the World Cup due to a better goal difference. If Egypt beat Algeria by a two-goal margin, either a draw or a play-off game will determine the group winners because both teams will become equal in goal difference, goals scored and head-to-head record. Algeria need to win, draw or lose by a one-goal margin to ensure they will become one of Africa's representatives at next year's World Cup finals in South Africa.
