Israeli manager Avram Grant has been re-appointed as Portsmouth director of football, the Premiership club said on Wednesday. The re-hiring of Grant is the first decision to be taken by new owner Ali Al-Farag, who bought the club from Soliman Al-Fahim this week. "The club's new owners want to appoint, with immediate effect, Avram Grant as director of football," Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie told the club's official site. It was confirmed that Al-Farag has decided to keep Paul Hart in his position as the first team manager. Portsmouth have been unsettled by the continuous takeover talks recently, which saw them slip to bottom place in the Premier League with three points from eight games.
