Ahli have accepted an offer from Libya's Ahli Benghazi to sign out-of-favor defender Ateya Al-Belkasi on loan, the Cairo giants said on Thursday. "Al-Belkasi will fly to Libya tonight to undergo a medical (at the Benghazi club)," Ahli said in a statement on their official website. "The club wanted to give him the chance to have such an experience abroad." Ahli, who signed Al-Belkasi from relegated Olympic in the close season for EGP 800,000 plus two youth players, did not disclose the length of the loan deal. The 25-year-old has not played a single game for Ahli this season and was consistently left out of the team's squad for the Egyptian Premier League matches. The Red Devils' boss Hossam Al-Badri usually fields Sherif Abdul-Fadil, who joined from Ismaili, and Egyptian international Wael Gomaa in the heart of the team's defense while skipper Ahmed Al-Sayed acts as an understudy to them. Al-Belkasi will become the second Egyptian player to join a Libyan outfit this season after free agent Ibrahim Saied, who moved to Ahli Tripoli on a one-year deal.
