Triple African Footballer of the Year Abedi Pele attended Zamalek's training session on Friday after being invited by his son Ibrahim Ayew, who joined the Cairo club in the close season. The Ghana legend got warm reception from Zamalek fans and officials upon arriving at the club's headquarters. He met the White Knights' technical staff before watching training from the stands of Helmi Zamoura stadium. His son Ayew moved to Zamalek from Ghana's Nania FC before the start of the season but is yet to make his competitive debut. Reports said former Zamalek coach Michel Decastel wasn't impressed with his displays in pre-season friendlies. It remains to be seen whether Michel, who returned for a second spell with the five-time African champions having abruptly left them in 2007, will give him a chance to prove his worth in the upcoming league games.
