ENPPI tactician Diaa Al-Sayed vowed that his team would significantly improve within the next few days, in the wake of their 3-1 win over AS Vita Club in the CAF Confederation Cup. The Petroleum side had an abysmal start to the season, after losing to Angola's Santos and ES Setif in their first two games of the continental competition's group stage. They also slumped to a 3-1 loss to Zamalek in their Egyptian Premier League opening match, which prompted then coach Anwar Salama to step down from his role. Al-Sayed, who served as ENPPI assistant coach before, was appointed as head coach shortly after Salama handed in his resignation, and he managed to help ENPPI end their losing streak right away. "We have been under a lot of pressure in these days because of losing three times in a row, not to mention Salama's sudden departure," Al-Sayed said after the game with the Congolese outfit. "Everyone was fully concentrating on the game today (Sunday), therefore we registered a much-needed victory. "The best is yet to come. ENPPI will put in much better performances than early in the season. We will be seeking to obtain better positions in the Confederation Cup and the League." ENPPI are now in third place in the Confederation Cup Group A with three points, three behind joint leaders ES Setif and Santos.
