Ahli playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika said that he's fully committed to his sponsorship association with telecommunications corporation Vodafone. Some newspapers have recently claimed Abou-Treika was set to end his rapport with the multinational mobile network operator in order to sign a new sponsorship deal with Mobinil, Vodafone's main competitor in Egypt. The Rumor was triggered after Mobinil chairman Naguib Sawiris gifted the Egypt star EGP one million as a reward for his efforts last season. Abou-Treika, however, assured that he didn't receive that amount of money in return for a new agreement with Mobinil as reported. "During my meeting with Sawiris, I refused to be photographed next to Mobinil's logo," he said. "I'm under contract with Vodafone and I respect that." The 30-year-old was set to donate the money to the charity, but now he intends to return it to Egyptian businessman Sawiris to let him take care of the donation himself.
