Ahli backtracked on their decision not to broadcast Saturday's home game against Angolan side Santos in the Confederation Cup round of 16 first leg. The Red Devils announced earlier on Friday that they would not air the game after a dispute with the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU). Ahli took that stance after the ERTU offered to pay the club EGP 200,000 to broadcast the match on terrestrial channels rather than the usual 350,000. But the matter has been resolved after ERTU chairman Ahmed Anis interfered. "Anis called Ahli president Hassan Hamdi and told him that ERTU accepted the club's demands," the Cairo giants said in a statement. "They will now pay Ahli EGP 300,000 to broadcast the game on their channels." Egyptian clubs can not broadcast any matches unless the ERTU give them the all-clear. Such rules embroil the majority of clubs with the ERTU. Rows over TV dues always arise as a result.
