Ahli coach Manuel Jose said his side fully deserved their African Super Cup triumph after defeating Tunisia's Sfaxien 2-1 on Friday. "We were the better team throughout the game and the better side always win," Jose told the post-match press conference. Two trademark headers from Flavio Amado were enough to see off Sfaxien, who missed out on the chance to claim their first Super Cup title in history. "Flavio is an excellent striker but we don't rely on individuals, we have a team that boast many good players." The Portuguese boss leapt to the defense of Ahli's backline, which leaked three goals in two games. After conceding twice in the 2-2 league draw with Gaish, Ahli's defensive trio Shadi Mohamed, Ahmed Al-Sayed and Wael Gomaa failed to prevent Sfaxien from scoring at Cairo Stadium. "The defenders made two mistakes but overall they were good," Jose added.
