Middlesbrough lost 2-0 to Chelsea in the Premiership game played at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. The former Ahli man produced a mediocre performance and was substituted on 58 minutes, before Sky Sports gave him a rating of 5 out of ten after the game. Chelsea looked keen on securing an early lead. However, the Blues' superiority couldn't be transformed into any first half goals. Michael Ballack saw his free-kick brilliantly saved by Ross Turnbull, and the German's shot proved to be the only highlight of the half. After the interval, Luiz Felipe Scolari brought on Didier Drogba, and Chelsea were put ahead as early as the 58th minute through Salomon Kalou. The Ivorian took advantage of a mix up in the Boro box by firing a close range volley into the top of Turnbull's net. The former Feyenoord man put the result beyond doubt for the home side by heading Frank Lampard's corner past Turnbull nine minutes from time. The win moves Chelsea to third spot in the Premiership with 58 points, while Middlesbrough remain 18th on 21 points. In another game, Everton drew 1-1 with Arsenal at Goodison Park. Tim Cahill put The Toffees ahead on 61 minutes, before Robin van Persie equalized for Arsenal in the 90th minute.
