A Hossam Osama hat-trick helped Petrojet thump third-division side Gendi 6-0 as they booked their place in the Egyptian Cup round of 16. Striker Sayed Hamdi put the hosts ahead in the 28th minute and Osama doubled the lead five minutes later. Osama, who joined Petrojet from Baladeya in the close season, scored his second of the night in the 57th minute. Hamdi was also on the scoresheet again to add the fourth in the 80th minute. Ahmed Al-Bouri widened Gendi's misery five minutes from time and Osama completed his hat-trick two minutes later to put the icing on the cake. Surprise package Petrojet continue their fine form under coach Mokhtar Mokhtar. The petroleum club occupy the Egyptian League summit with 30 points, one ahead of second-place Ismaili.
