Sion keeper Essam Al-Hadari said on Sunday he is close to joining a French Ligue 1 club which he declined to name. The Egypt goalie revealed last month that he would leave Swiss outfit Sion when the transfer window reopens in January. Many people had doubts that the 35-year-old would be able to play in a major European league due to his relatively old age. Al-Hadari says otherwise. "I will play in the French Ligue 1, but not for Lyon as numerous reports suggested," he told FilGoal.com. Ahli are pursuing a legal action against Sion for what they call 'Hadari's illegitimate move to them'. The veteran guardian abruptly joined Sion without the consent of the Cairo giants last February. "That problem will not prevent me from leaving Sion and joining another club," Al-Hadari added.
