Alessandro Del Piero scored a stunning free-kick as Juventus eased to a 2-0 home victory over the crisis-hit Roma in the Serie A on Saturday. The Juve skipper curled a brilliant free into the top corner from 30 metres to break the deadlock seven minutes before the break. Midfielder Marco Marchionni doubled the lead three minutes after the restart when he skipped past John Arne Riise before chipping Roma keeper Alexander Doni. "It's a good step forward against a Roma side who showed they are strong, but perhaps with a few problems," Del Piero told Sky television. "It's important that we show character, desire to come first and win. Now we must seek continuity." Roma's fourth successive defeat will increase the pressure on Roma coach Luciano Spalletti. The capital side, who finished as runners-up last season, are languishing in 17th place with seven points, just one above the relegation zone. Juventus are fifth on 18 points, three short of leaders Inter Milan, who defeated Reggina 3-2 earlier in the day. Watch Juventus first goal Watch Juventus second goal
