Ronaldo says he deserves top individual awards

Manchester United wizard Cristiano Ronaldo believes he deserves to claim the world's most prestigious awards after excelling in 2008.
Ronaldo produced scintillating displays with United last season, scoring a massive 42 goals to help the Red Devils win the Premiership and the UEFA Champions League.
The Portuguese winger wants to be rewarded for his efforts by being handed the 2008 Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year accolades.
"There cannot be just one candidate. There are two or three that deserve it," Ronaldo told Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday.
"But if you look at what each of them has done throughout the season, I believe I have done more than the rest. What else could I have won for the Golden Ball and the FIFA award?"
"Honestly, regarding the (Ballon D'Or) and the FIFA World Player award I feel confident, I am calm."
