Reports indicating that Enyimba striker Stephen Worgu has signed for Ahli are premature, the team's assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri said on Wednesday. Ahli's marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi recently said that the Red Devils were in advanced talks with Enyimba to sign the Nigerian youngster. Widespread reports even suggested that Ahli have already wrapped up his deal. However, Al-Badri insisted that for the meantime, Worgu remains an Enyimba player. “Reports which have said that Worgu officially joined Ahli are completely untrue,” he told Ahli's official website. “Enyimba have agreed in principle to sell him but we are still in the negotiations process.” Worgu, 19, has attracted interest from several African and European teams after impressing in the CAF Champions League. He is the competition's current top scorer with 13 goals. Meanwhile, Ahli have fined striker Ahmed Farag EGP 20,000 for skipping Wednesday's training session without permission. “The club have to maintain its disciplinary code,” Al-Badri said. Farag, who joined Ahli from Ghazl Mahalla in the close season, played just one competitive match so far. He came on as a second-half substitute in Ahli's goalless draw with Arab Contractors in the Egyptian League.
