Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas denied that Amr Zaki's contract with Wigan Athletic includes a clause that allows the English club to sign him on a permanent basis. It has been thought that the Latics, who signed Zaki on a season-long loan, have an option to buy the Egypt striker should they pay Zamalek £1.5 million next summer. Wigan manager Steve Bruce recently said that there was a deal in place to sign the combative frontman permanently. However, Abbas insisted Zamalek will have the last word on Zaki's destination. "Reports indicating that Wigan have an option to buy Zaki if they pay a certain amount of money are totally untrue," he told Zamalek's official website on Friday. "The clauses in Zaki's contract are very clear. Wigan signed him on loan for £1.25 million, and they would pay further 500,000 if the player scored ten goals this season. "But Zamalek will have the sole right to sell Zaki to any interested club next summer." Zaki got off his season to a flying start, scoring five goals in as many games for Wigan.
