Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon defended Real Madrid's decision to sell want-away striker Robinho to Manchester City. Robinho was focused on leaving Real Madrid and heading to London to join Chelsea, however, a late bid from Manchester City sealed the deal for the Brazilian ace. "We have sold Robinho for reasons of human nature," Calderon told Canal Veo TV.
Robinho "After consulting with the technical staff we have decided it was the best decision for the group and the club. The fact the player accepted the offer from City proves he isn't moving for sporting reasons." Calderon made it clear that even though Real aren't in the business of selling their star players, but that at the same time, the good of the club is the ultimate goal. "It's isn't Real's policy to sell players but we thought it was for the best."
