No bid for Villa as Cazorla snubs Real
Published in FilGoal on 27 - 08 - 2008

Real Madrid will have to search elsewhere for a replacement to Robinho as the Spanish champions' raid on David Villa and Santi Cazorla seems to be dashed.
Robinho's exit from the Bernabeu has become inevitable after the Brazilian announced his desire to leave for Chelsea.
Consequently, Real are in a hurry to make a big signing before the transfer window closure next week, but their search is yet to reach a suitable outcome.
EURO 2008 top scorer Villa is on brink of renewing his contract with Valencia, who are unlikely to sell him for less than 50M.
"We will be reviewing his contract so that he is happier to continue with us," Los Ches vice-chairman Fernando Gomez told Marca on Wednesday.
"There is no offer for Villa and if one arrives we hope it will be as soon as possible, (although) we hope one never comes.
"It would be very difficult to see Villa leave Valencia. 50million euros would be a good offer, but I cannot assure that we would say yes to it".
New Contract for Cazorla
In the same manner, Villarreal winger Santi Cazorla penned a new deal that should keep him with the Yellow Submarine until 2014.
Real were reportedly willing to pay the 23-year-old's buyout clause of €16M, but Villarreal were quick to offer their man a new contract.
"I am very happy to stay here because I consider this club to be my home," he told Villarreal's official site.
"What was most important was that the club showed that I am important to them. I did not have to think for long about things.
"I really appreciate all the effort the club made. I did not delay my decision because it was the best choice for me."
According to Spanish El Mundo, Villarreal have doubled Cazorla's annual salary to reach €2M.
