Premiership clubs Wigan Athletic and Middlesbrough have demanded the Egyptian FA not to recall Amr Zaki and Mohamed Shawky for the friendly game against Sudan. "Middlesbrough said they don't want Shawky to play against Sudan due to their Premiership commitments," Egypt assistant coach Hamada Sedki told FilGoal.com. "The club also stated that they need him in the upcoming period due to shortage of options in midfield." Zaki's manager Mohamed Saied revealed that Wigan took a similar stance. "The Latics sent a letter to the Egyptian FA demanding Zaki to be excluded from Sudan's trip," he said. However, Sedki said Egypt's technical staff is highly unlikely to accept the Premiership duo's request. "We need all our players for the Sudan game. The match is also included in FIFA's international calendar." African champions Egypt are scheduled to face Sudan in a friendly game on August 20th. Combative striker Zaki is hoping to impress Wigan coach Steve Bruce after joining on a season-long loan from Cairo giants Zamalek. His start has been promising as he notched two goals in Wigan's pre-season friendlies. Midfielder Shawky is keen to prove his worth at the Riverside as he didn't play much in his first season with Boro.
