Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti said that he won't pursue Ricardo Quaresma and Frank Lampard as the team needs to strengthen its backline. “I don't think we will be returning to the market. We have plenty of faith in the players at our disposal and I hope that those who are injured manage to recover,” the Nerazzurri chief told Calcio Italia. The Italian Champions have been chasing Lampard and Quaresma for weeks but the negotiations were inconclusive. “There was an important problem with the player, he belongs to Chelsea. We had the utmost respect for the position he was in because he was owned by another club and it wasn't easy for him to come,” added Moratti. “Quaresma? We have plenty of options going forward and I don't think that he will arrive. If anything we would need defenders because they are our problem now. I don't believe Jose Mourinho intends to sign.” Inter's defense has been hit by injuries as Marco Materazzi, Walter Samuel, Ivan Cordoba and Christian Chivu have been ruled out.
