EURO 2008 Final Preview: Germany vs. Spain
Published in FilGoal on 29 - 06 - 2008

It is the final day of the 13th European championship as Germany take on Spain at Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna.
Germany are in the final for the sixth time, but the three-time champions are yet to produce their best in Austria and Switzerland.
On the other hand, the in-form Spaniards are on the verge of losing the underachiever tag if they clinched the Henri Delaunay trophy for the first time in 44 years.
Head-to-head:
Germany win: 8
Spain win: 5
Draw: 6
Germany
"I expect to win, of course. We have a long, hard road behind us over the past few weeks," said Joachim Loew.
"This tournament was tough for all players and all teams, it took up a lot of strength but now we're in the final and we're going to gather all our efforts to win and take the cup back to Germany."

Torres is Spain's main man
Team News: Germany were hit by the injury of influential skipper Michael Ballack, who is doubtful after picking up a calf injury in training.
Thorsten Frings, who started on the bench against Turkey, is set to replace Simon Rolfes in midfield.
Probable Line-up: Lehmann- Lahm, Friedrich, Mertesacker, Metzelder- Frings, Ballack, Hitzlsperger, Schweinsteiger, Podolski- Klose.
Spain
"My greatest concern is my team. Germany are very strong, and their set-pieces are very dangerous," Luis Aragones said.
"We know they don't have such a flowing game as us but they counterattack with speed and we need to learn how to stop that.
"It might be of concern to me, but I'm sure Germany are concerned the football we play with the ball on the ground could cause them problems."
Team News: Spain are missing the competition's top scorer David Villa, who suffered a thigh strain in the 3-0 win over Russia.
Aragones is yet to decide on whether to use Daniel Guiza as a second man with Fernando Torres upfront, or start with Cesc Fabregas behind the Liverpool hitman.
Probable Line-up: Casillas- Ramos, Capdevila, Puyol, Marchena- Senna, Xavi, Iniesta, Silva, Fabregas- Torres.
