Ismaili claimed that midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou has penned a three-year contract extension with the club despite the fact that he should return to Strasbourg. "Abd-Rabou's new deal will run until 2012," Ismaili chairman Saad Al-Gendi told FilGoal.com on Tuesday. The Egypt midfielder's previous contract with the Dervishes was due to expire in the summer of 2009. Ismaili's surprising announcement came after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled in favor of French side Strasbourg in Abd-Rabou's transfer saga. Ismaili, who initially signed Abd-Rabou on loan from Strasbourg, missed the deadline to turn the player's deal into a permanent one. However, the 23-year-old continued playing with Ismaili until the CAS said he should return to Strasbourg. Abd-Rabou's future remains unclear. Meanwhile, Al-Gendi revealed that Ismaili opened talks with Portuguese coach Jose Garrido over their vacant managerial seat. Ismaili are seeking to find a replacement for coach Emad Soliman, who resigned after guiding the club to a second-place finish in the Egyptian League.
