AC Milan have been granted permission by Chelsea to approach Didier Drogba, according to the Serie A club's vice-chairman Adriano Galliani. "Chelsea have authorized us to open negotiations with Drogba," Adriano Galliani said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. Drogba has been a target for Milan in late, and the Ivorian hitman admitted his desire to join the Rossoneri forces in his autobiography. However, Milan's attempts to retrieve Andrei Shevchenko seem to be fading as Chelsea are not willing to sacrifice the Ukrainian. "Unfortunately, the response we feared came for Shevchenko. Chelsea consider Andrei not for sale. This epilogue makes us very sad," added Galliani. Milan are in continual search for a striker, following the injury of Ronaldo and the transfer of Alberto Gilardino to Fiorentina.
