Barcelona's attempts to lure Villarreal's highly-rated defender Martin Caceres seem to be in progress as Josep Guardiola carries on reinforcing his new side. Villarreal sporting director Jose Manuel Llaneza conceded that the 21-year-old is approaching the move, despite the club's reluctance to sell him. "The transfer of Martin Caceres to Barcelona is getting warmer," Llaneza told Sport. "Villarreal are a club that don't really expect to sell their players, but there is nothing you can do if someone comes in and pays the release clause. "The situation advances with each passing day and when there is this much progress, it makes you think that a resolution is near. "While it is not possible to say that the transfer has been completed at this point, every day there seems to be a better chance of that being the case." The Uruguay international, who was also targeted by Real Madrid and Chelsea, is believed to be flattered by Barca's bid. Meanwhile, the Blaugrana are on brink of completing a swoop for Arsenal's Alexander Hleb after the Belarusian confirmed his exit from Emirates Stadium.
