Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster was jubilant after his side's emphatic 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, but was hoping to claim the Primera Liga title at Bernabeu. Real went ten points clear on top to close in on a second straight title, and a win at Osasuna next week would guarantee Schuster his first trophy with the Royal Club. "I would've liked to win the title tonight because everything was perfect. The crowd was as excited as we were," the German said after the game. "Today would've been the perfect day in which to win the league. It was important to win the game. It now all depends on what we do. "The atmosphere was perfect. The most important thing for me was being able to overcome the danger of knowing Villarreal had won their game just before we took the pitch. I think the team reacted very well. "We are all very happy with the result because we knew the game would be difficult. We are happy and sad for not being able to celebrate the title with our fans tonight." Schuster's future with Real went under scrutiny after the team's early Champions League exit, but the Spanish champions have got back to winning ways in recent weeks.
