Muller tips Toni for glory

Former Germany striker Gerd Muller believes that Luca Toni is the only player who can beat his goal scoring record of 40 goals in one season.
“Luca is very strong. He has already scored 35 goals and is the only person that can surpass my achievement,” the former World Cup winner told Calcio Italia on Thursday.
The 30-year old Italian marksman has already struck 35 times and has still five matches to play in the league and at least two in the UEFA Cup as Bayern will face Zenit St. Petersburg in the UEFA Cup.
“We have a different style. He has an extraordinary instinct. I don't know if he will succeed in beating my tally but if Toni doesn't do it this season, I fear no-one ever will,” added the Mannschaft legendary striker.
Muller marked his record in 1971-72 and since then no one got close to it. Toni won the European Golden Boot in 2006 with 31 goals.
