Emad Meteb asked Ahli to delay negotiating a new contact with the club until the end of the season, revealed football director Hossam Al-Badri. Ahli were set to open negotiations with the Egypt striker via Al-Badri, who was also handed the task of negotiating a new deal with Flavio Amado. "We are looking forward to keep both strikers for a further spell, but Meteb prefers to open talks after the season ends," Al-Badri told FilGoal.com. Meteb's contract with the Reds runs out in June 2009, and the same goes for Angola striker Flavio, who expressed his willingness to sign a new deal. Despite being regulars, Flavio and Meteb managed only nine goals between them out of Ahli's massive 41 goals so far in the league.
