Mirko Slomka was full of praise for Schalke players despite their 1-0 defeat against Barcelona in the Nou Camp on Wednesday night. “When you put Barcelona under that sort of pressure at home, then you have played a good game,” Slomka said after the game. Schalke were the better side but Yaya Toure relieved the Catalan giants with a 43rd minute winner. "It really was a shame. “The decisive goal was just beyond us, and then came the kick in the teeth. We fought for every meter but we lacked the experience to finish things off. “The strikers created very good chances, but were just lacking in the last centimeter. You have to take chances like the ones we created in the first half," added the Schalke boss. The German side played for the first time in the Champions League quarter finals but couldn't hold against Barcelona who beat them twice with the score of 1-0.
