Palermo chairman Maurizio Zamparini revealed that Bayern Munich hitman and former Rosaneri striker Luca Toni was offered to AC Milan three years ago, but the latter sarcastically rejected. The outspoken Palermo chief claims that Milan vice-chairman Adriano Galliani said he 'would be embarrassed if Toni joined the Rossoneri'. "When I offered Toni to Milan, if I remember rightly three years ago, Galliani replied he would be embarrassed to walk up the San Siro steps with Toni wearing a Rossoneri jersey," Zamparini told Gazzetta. "I imagine he won't regret that statement, seeing as he says he never regrets anything." Toni, who is currently Italy's main man upfront, was sold to Fiorentina in 2005, hitting 47 goals in two seasons with the Viola. The 30-year-old was then lured by Bayern last summer, as he leads the Bundesliga scoring charts with 16 goals so far this season.
